Neuroprotective and Anti-Inflammatory Antidepressants
THE UNDERAPRRECIATED IMMUNOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF ANTIDEPRESSANTS
All antidepressants have demonstrated some degree of anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective activity. Minerve has identified the specific mechanisms responsible for these effects and is leveraging this knowledge to develop next-generation antidepressants.
MNERVE’S MISSION TO ENGINEER DUAL-ACTION ANTIDEPRESSANTS
Our goal is to enhance both the efficacy in treating depression and the broader therapeutic benefits for the immune system and central nervous system. Traditional studies of antidepressants have been hampered by growing placebo effect with stable therapeutic effects over time, thereby making it extremely challenging to reach statistical significance in studies comparing between a treated group and their control counterparts. The ability to determine the difference between conventional antidepressants and those designed to dramatically reduce inflammation associated with driving chronic pain and depressing the mood, on the other hand, is a very straightforward endeavor.
